1. WHOM IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This course is the right course for YOU if you are
- An undergraduate or postgraduate student who wants to get into a top consulting firm such as McKinsey, BCG or Bain (internship and full-time position)
- A young professional (i.e., with some initial work experience) who soon intends switching to a management consulting career
Ideally, you take this course before you submit your job applications, since we redesign your application documents as part of this course.
If you are not yet 100% sure what a consulting job takes and whether you want to become a consultant, I recommend you to check this out first.
2. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
By completion of this course, you will have the best version of your consulting application documents ready (curriculum vitae, cover letter and attachments).
If you are early in your academic career, you will have developed a strategic masterplan for a smooth transition into a top management consulting job.
If you advanced in your academic career or an experienced hire, I will teach you strategies how you can build & tweak your current profile to your greatest benefit.
You will also know which of your (past) experiences you should point out the most in your application documents, since you understand what the top consulting firms truly seek in the candidates they love to hire.
This course is organized in two parts:
PART A: HOW TO BECOME THE IRRESISTIBLE CANDIDATE
In the first part of this course, through an interactive self-assessment, we build a strategic masterplan for you, so that your MBB candidate profile sends recruiters’ hearts racing! For this purpose, I first reveal why the official job requirements that the top consulting firms regularly communicate really do not help you. Instead, I teach you the consulting candidate selection criteria that you truly matter for you!
I explain to you what decisions you should ideally take in regards to your academic career (e.g., choice of institution, university subjects, study abroad, performance, degrees), internships and previous work experience, extracurricular activities, awards & scholarships, consulting recruting events, language & IT skills, etc.) I also discuss the ideal entry level that you should aspire for (e.g., start as an intern, with a Master’s degree, PhD degree or work experience), and even what role your gender may play in all this...
PART B: YOUR “PERFECT” CV & COVER LETTER
Whether these activities lie in your past or in your future – in the second part of this course, I help you build the best version of your “perfect” CV! For this, I invite you to (re-)start writing your resume by using my dedicated consulting CV templates attached to this course. I teach you how to best position your (past) experiences and take you step-by-step through all its sections so you know what to write to make yourself shine. For each CV section, I also demonstrate to you how I have implemented my advice in my very own McKinsey CV that landed me my McKinsey job!
Furthermore, you will get access to my consulting cover letter template, which I have designed to help you outstanding MBB cover letters on auto-pilot! Again, I let my trousers down and show you what I wrote in my very own McKinsey cover letter…
Once you have taken the steps recommended in this course, you are ready to apply for internships and full-time consulting jobs. You will still have to prepare for the further consulting recruiting process BUT if you manage to build the perfect candidate’s profile and know how to highlight in your application documents what the MBB companies love – TRUST ME - you make your path into a top consulting firm so much easier…!
Welcome on the inside :-)
